Next generation data centers: this is our focus

Karno exists to help you build next generation data centers: minimize initial capital expenditures (capex), minimize ongoing operational expenditures (opex) for the entire life of your data center, maximize the actual energy that reaches your server farm (IT load) while lowering the overall energy consumption of the supporting, electro-mechanical, equipments.

Karno owns, acquires, develops and manages technology-related real estate that offer strategic value to its clients. We're focused on providing turn-key datacentre solutions for worldwide tenants across a variety of industry verticals ranging from information technology and internet enterprises, to manufacturing and financial services.

Converting post-industrial sites into data centers

Converting post-industrial sites into data centers by reclaiming facilities rather than creating new sites from the ground up is encouraged by the USGBC as good for the environment. As well, many of those sites already have ample amounts of electricity readily available that were used in their processes and some of them also have access to large quantities of water that was also used in their production.

Installed and available power contributes to lowering the initial capital expenditures in a data center project as high-energy transformers and equipment are very costly to acquire and install.

Available water, used for cooling the data center, significantly lowers the operational expenditures of an operating data center over its life.

So industrial sites with installed power and access to water used for cooling are keys to lowering the overall investment in any data center project.
